Hello and welcome to the RIST counseling website.  Our main priority is to support students and their families in achieving academic success here at RIST.  We offer many different services including:

• Guidance Curriculum: Counselors provide instruction in career guidance, college planning, academic forecasting, study skills and maintaining academic success through classroom and large group presentations.

• Responsive Services: Students are encouraged to seek counseling assistance when educational or personal concerns arise. Individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and referral services are available.

• Individual Planning: Counselors meet with individual students to establish personal goals and develop post high school plans. Counselors coordinate activities that help all students plan, monitor and manage their own learning as well as meet competencies in the areas of academic, career and personal/social development

• Parent Support Discussion Series :

  Counselor will host parent meetings periodically to facilitate discussion on a variety of parenting topics to include:

  Communication Issues,

  Understanding child’s behavior,

  Encouragement principles,

  Conflict Management,

  Other parent issues/concerns
